Controlling Your Thoughts 2

I.                 Notice where the wicked imagination is, in the heart.

1.    Pro 6:18  An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations,

2.    Pro 23:7  For as he thinketh in his heart so is he….

3.    Pro 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it [are] the issues of life.

a.      issues meaning source (of life), escape (from death)

b.      source meaning basis, foundation, starting place, cause or spring of life

c.       Out of your heart come decisions that will cause you to escape death.

4.     God told Joshua a different way.

a.      Jos 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

b.      Meditating on Gods word will cause you to see yourself as God sees you, in return will cause you to respond as God responds.

c.       Mat 12:34 for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh

d.      When you speak you use words in order to declare one's mind and disclose one's thoughts.

e.      Out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks, not out of the less, the mouth speaks and continues to speak.

f.        See how important it is to control your thoughts and not meditate on those negative things for long periods of time.

g.      2Cr 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God

h.      You have to open your mouth and say. I cast that down and submit my thoughts to my Lord. In Jesus name.

i.        Don’t forget he tested Jesus three times before he had to leave.

j.        Stick with the Word and He will never leave you nor forsake you.
