Jesus Bought Us Into The Grace Of God

For our God [is] a consuming fire.

Matt. 24: 35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

1.    You cannot do the word unless you first hear the word of God.

2.    Rom 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law [are] just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

a.      this verse is really setting forth an ideal condition rather than something that is capable of human attainment

b.      We couldn’t keep the law ourselves, that’s why Jesus came.

c.      He fully met the requirements of the Law.

d.      Hebrews 10:8-10 (nlt)  First, Christ said, “You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings or burnt offerings or other offerings for sin, nor were you pleased with them” (though they are required by the law of Moses). 9 Then he said, “Look, I have come to do your will.” He cancels the first covenant in order to put the second into effect. 10 For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.

e.      John 1:17  For the law was given by Moses, [but] grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

f.       Matt. 5:17  Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

g.      The fulfilling of the law by Jesus, bought us into the will of God’s grace.

h.      A man had to fulfill the law, since it was a man that got us into this situation, now it would take a man to led us out.

i.        Phi. 2:7  But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

j.       Read Phi. 2:5-10
